The Triumphant Return of 30 Covers, 30 Days

Last year, NaNoWriMo introduced 30 Covers, 30 Days—a new program that combined the exuberant imperfection of NaNo with the sheer power of images in book cover design. Chris Papasaderos of Fwis took up the challenge to produce cover designs for 30 NaNo novels-in-progress during the month of November; his final tally was 19 covers.
This year, we’re lucky enough to have cover design legend John Gall in charge of the project (he did the covers above). You can see some of his awesome designs at the Book Cover Archive, check out his blog, and read an interview with him over at Design Bureau. John is putting together a super-secret all-star design team to work on covers this year, and we’re all looking forward to what they come up with.
We’ll begin selecting 2010 novels for cover design in October. We’ll pick novels representing a range of genres and languages. If you want your 2010 NaNo novel to have a shot at cover design stardom, be sure to post a title and a synopsis after the site re-launches on October 1.
