November’s over, but why stop writing?
NaNoWriMo has been over for a week, and I don’t know about you, but I’m not ready to give up writing daily. I find writing to be excellent stress-relief, and I would kinda like to sell a novel or two someday.
Now, I’m not talking NaNo-levels of production (though if you can keep up that pace, by all means do!). If you’re in school or working full-time or parenting or doing any of the other worthy things that eat up our time, that may not be a realistic goal. I’m shooting for 750 words per day instead. Why 750? Honestly, it’s because I like 750Words.com and I want to earn their electronic merit badges.

Since I’m deep into a second round of revisions, I take 15-20 minutes each morning while eating breakfast to think about the revisions I’ll work on that day. I muse about potential character and plot developments, and I write it all down. By the time I’ve finished, I’ve written at least 750 words and I’ve solved my plot problems for the day. When I go to make the necessary changes in the evening, I can check what I’ve written.
NaNoWriMo may be done for the year, but if you’ve enjoyed writing, don’t let that stop you! What would you work on if you had unlimited time in December?
